Located in the maze of narrow lanes of Barrio Gótico, directly up against the historic city walls. From here, the ramblas, the rich ambience of the market hall La Boqueria, and the waterfront are just a 10 minute walk away.
Ambience
It is a place that, while richly steeped in history, is characterised by contemporary design and cosmopolitan flair.

Culinary
The breakfast is outstanding, and leaves nothing to be desired! The dishes and delicacies of the in-house pastry shop are presented in an inspiring buffet you may order after your main course. Mercer Hotel, Barcelona

In the fall of 2012, this wonderful boutique hotel moved to the Gothic quarter with its narrow lanes. Tucked away behind a medieval façade, you will find highly elegant contemporary design by Gastón y Daniela. Expressionist art by Agusti Puig decorates adds fascinating accents. A good place to take your aperitif is in the luscious courtyard among the orange trees or on the rooftop patio with a view of the church of Santa Maria del Mar. Dine true to style in the former fortified tower with your back against a wall dating back to the first century. An impressive stairway and wide, sunlit hallways take you to the chi-chi guest rooms, done in earthy hues. Aside from art historians and connoisseurs of Barcelona, this en-vogue venue will delight pampered jet setters looking for that special something.
Price range €€
A marvellous gem: The "Mercer" is built right against the first-century city walls. The restaurant is located inside an ancient fortified tower. You will keep discovering historic elements, such as medieval frescoes and columns from the 17th century. With its urbane design, the hotel brilliantly bridges the gap between past and present.
Not too keen to enter the maze of narrow streets in the Gothic quarter, taxis tend to drop off their passengers at the city walls. So if you wish to be taken all the way to the hotel's doorstep with your luggage, book your transportation through the "Mercer."
