Individual ratings for Helvetia

Location
Located between the bank of the Sihl and Stauffacherplatz, the hub of the city's public transportation system. From here, trams will quickly take you to any major location in town. The central railway station is just a 10-minute walk from the "Helvetia."
Ambience
The listed, mint-coloured façade from the 19th century hides a boutique hotel in the style of New York City's Soho district, with plenty of character and charm.
Infrastructure
Restaurant with a waterfront patio, bar, rooftop patio, and the "Helvti" burger served across the street from the hotel in the former tram stop.
Culinary
The star at the stove is the aspirational Swiss chef Françoise Wicki. She knows how to combine Mediterranean cuisine with rock-solid recipes of Swiss provenience. A sumptuous treat is the meatloaf with forest mushrooms and savoury veal stock, served with mashed potatoes.
Rooms
14 as-new rooms and 2 spacious apartments, decorated with great love of detail. The concept for decoration and furnishings was developed by the renowned interior designers of "Atelier Zürich." All rooms come with mini-bar iPod docking station, complimentary WiFi, but lack A/C. Bathrooms are stocked with high-end care products by Kiehl's.
Service
Easy-going and boisterously casual. A young crew with a sense of humour.

Helvetia Hotel, Zürich

Known to locals under the tender moniker of "Helvti," this hotel in Zurich with its restaurant and bar is a place steeped in history and tradition. In the late 1970s and the turbulent 1980s, when "a night on the town" was still an alien concept, "Helvti" Bar was the lone star on the Zurich night sky. It was the place to retire to after rallies, a place where you met musicians, artists, students, and journalists coming over from the nearby publishing house of the daily "Tages-Anzeiger," and where the legend of "burning Zurich" was germinated. In late 2008, the "Helvti" was resurrected as "Helvetia." The urban hangout named after the nation remains a popular hangout for bohemians. Then as now, people relish fine food at the tables, philosophise at the bar, and sleep snugly in comfy beds in posh Soho-style rooms. Perfect for anyone craving a vivacious place to stay within walking distance of the railway station, the financial district, and the high-street spread of Bahnhofstrasse.
Price range
Living art – Swiss cosmopolitanism in museum-like quality. The "Helvti" serves as showroom for the adjacent museum Haus Konstruktiv. The hotel presents a fine selection of works from the edition series of the museum, and these are actually available for sale in the art shop.
The racket made by the tram as it passes by on Sihlquai feels as if it ran right through your room.
