Location
In the hamlet of Findeln at an elevation of 2,100\_m above sea level, in the middle of the Sunnegga ski resort above Zermatt. Non-skiers take the Sunnega mountain railway to get to the Chez Vrony chalet. It is another 10-minute of walking from the railway station.
Ambience
An elegant alpine restaurant with unmistakeable spirit and sensuously flaunted alpine chic.
Infrastructure
A comfy restaurant with lots of nooks and crannies, spread across 3 floors and a large sun deck. The rooms and the patio are funished with design furniture by Zermatt artist Heinz Julen.
Culinary
Alpine cuisine with organic, home-grown products, and the ambition to combine the Valais tradition with influences of the Italian cuisine. Be sure to try the following: the Vroni Burger made of alpine beef from Findeln, raclette with fig-hazelnut chutney, and "Apfelchuechli": donut-type apple fritters with home-made vanilla sauce.
Wine List
The brief wine list focuses on native and Italian grapes.
Service
Vrony and Max are omnipresent, running the Chez Vrony with great personal commitment. The young service staff are remarkably friendly and swift.

What would Zermatt be without the Matterhorn? And what indeed would it be without the Chez Vrony? In the first case, the place would surely be poorer by one famous landmark that everyone should have seen once in his life. In the second case, however, it would lack the culinary landmark that best be tried not only once but several times in one's lifetime. Luckily, the Chez Vrony traditional restaurant up on the hillside has been an integral part of Zermatt for about a century now. In the picturesque hamlet of Findeln, the classy chalet occupies just about the sunniest spot – with a picture-perfect view of the Matterhorn. Celebrities and every man jack congregate here. This place is one of a kind, as unique as the Matterhorn itself. Opening hours: From the end of November through the end of April, daily between 9:15 am and 4:00 pm, and from mid-June through mid-October daily between 9:15 am to 6:00 pm

We are enthralled by the place's unique spirit and its fine cuisine. For us, coming to Zermatt without dropping in at Vrony and Max's on the hill would simply be unthinkable.
Because of the high demand for table reservations during winter season, a first and second service are offered for dinner times.
