Individual ratings for Blatten

Location
In the hamlet of Blatten, directly by the side of the ski slope. Perfect for skiers and visitors on foot. From Zermatt, it is a 30-minute walk in the direction of the Matterhorn.
Ambience
An alpine restaurant of long-standing tradition and plenty of charm.
Infrastructure
Rustic restaurant, spread across two floors, patio, and snow bar.
Culinary
We are not the only fans of the "Blatten" cuisine up on the hillside. Especially the truffle fondue we consider a highlight. The creamy "panna cotta" with stewed plums, and of perfect consistency, is always worth an indulgence.
Wine List
The well-appointed wine list focuses on the Valais and Italy.
Service
Hosts Simone and Leander Taugwalder fill the "Blatten" with irresistible charm, and single-handedly create a merry ambience. Friendly, attentive and personal, even during the stressful peak season.

Blatten Restaurant, Zermatt

Alpine magic at the foot of the Matterhorn: Since 1850, the Taugwalder family has been running the small alpine restaurant named "Blatten" in the eponymous hamlet above Zermatt. Once a small tea house, today a trendy venue next to the ski slope. The "Blatten" is an ultra-cosy mountain pub, offering delicacies for the fastidious guest - whether it is served on a plate or in a glass. Opening Hours: Mid-December through the end of April and mid-June through mid-October, during lunch hours. "Hüttenabend" (folklore night) on Wednesdays. Additional nighttime events upon request.
Price range €€
Alpine magic at the foot of the Matterhorn - we are not the only ones who love fine cuisine at the "Blatten" up on the hill. We found the truffle fondue to be a particular highlight.
The demand for reservations during the cold season is so high that you are well-advised to book lunches weeks ahead.
