Individual ratings for Tschuggen Grand Hotel

Location
Free-standing in a beautiful vista location, directly on the ski slope in Innerarosa.
Ambience
Refreshingly colourful design by Carlo Rampazzi throughout the hotel and in the rooms combines with the purist design of the "Tschuggen Bergoase," conceived by celebrated architect Mario Botta. The two places are connected by a glass skywalk.
Infrastructure
5 restaurants, bar, cigar lounge, large spa "Bergoase" of 5,000 sqm, gym, boutique, crèche, and the "Tschuggen Express" alpine railway privately owned by the hotel.
Culinary
Excellent breakfast buffet, culinary diversity in the five restaurants, serving anything from cheese fondue, to Mediterranean dishes, and all the way to gourmet cuisine.
Rooms
98 as-new, brightly coloured rooms and 32 luxurious suites. The most recent refurbishment took place in 2011. The rooms in the lowest category, "Nordlage," overlook the skylights of the Bergoase spa and the parking lot. In order to enjoy the alpine panorama, we recommend reserving a south-facing room ("Südlage").
Service
Competent, friendly and solicitous.

Tschuggen Grand Hotel Hotel, Arosa

A luxurious "ski-in, ski-out" resort for ambitious ski buffs and free-stylers. In the morning, the "Tschuggen Express" will take you directly into the big ski area, with 225 kilometres of slope now that the Arosa and Lenzerheide ski resorts are interconnected. The best thing to do around noon is to work on your tan in a lounge chair at the trendy "Tschuggenhütte" chalet. Afterwards, you won't have far to go. The ski slope ends directly outside the "Tschuggen Grand Hotel." Coming in from the cold, the guest will be pampered by the warmth of the sauna at the modern "Tschuggen Bergoase" by celebrated architect Mario Botta. Sit in the hot tub below starry skies to massage your sore muscles, or do your laps in the indoor pool in broad daylight that the impressive weathervane-shaped skylights beam into the interior of the wellness complex. Back up to speed for the evening, you get to choose among five different restaurants. Last time we were there it felt hip to do the traditional thing. At "Bündnerstube," we relished a creamy cheese fondue. We concluded our day on the slope with a cigar in the elegant smoking room, making a mental promise to come back soon.
Price range €€€
We love the futuristic-looking rack railway "Tschuggen Express" that the hotel operates to ferry patrons comfortably and directly from the hotel to the ski slopes in 2.5 minutes. At any moment, you expect to see James Bond.
The unfavourable architecture of the main building is remindful of a high-altitude sanatorium. But as soon as you step into your room and behold the stunning alpine panorama, you will forget all about it. After all, you spend more time looking out of the hotel than looking at the hotel.
