Villa Beccaris Hotel, Monforte d'Alba

Whitewashed in yellow and donning shutters in azure blue, this sublime mansion perches above the wine-growing village of Monforte d'Alba. The small, classy 4-star hotel was named after its former owner, Italian General Fiorenzo Bava-Beccaris. Parlours and guest rooms are furnished in great taste and with a love of detail, giving them a touch of grandezza and historic flair. Aside from being an elegant abode pro tem, it is also the perfect starting point for exploring the wine and gourmet region of Langhe with its renowned wineries and the villages of Barolo, La Morra, and – first and foremost – Monforte d'Alba. We particularly recommend visiting the "Rocche dei Manzoni" winery just 2\_kilometres from the hotel, for it is one of the top producers in the Piedmont. The wines of the Migliorini family have scored "Tre Bicchieri" top ratings by Gambero Rosso more than once. Having toured the wine cellar, you could do worse than sitting down to a fine glass of Barolo "Big d'Big" at the hotel's own wine bar and letting it all sink in. The large wine cellar of "Villa Beccaris" itself pays homage to the Langhe and will bring a sparkle to the eyes of any lover of fine wines.
Price range
Taking your breakfast in a fin de siècle ambience. We consider the "La Limonaia" glass pavillion the most enchanting breakfast room anywhere in the Piedmont; from here you have an unmatched view of La Morra and the surrounding, gently rolling hills of the Langhe.
There is quite a number of truffle and wine connoisseurs who know this place. To secure a room for an autumn weekend, be sure to make reservations well ahead of time.
