Individual ratings for Villa Cora

Location
It sits inside a garden with old-growth trees next to the Boboli Gardens. A 20-minute walk will take you to the Ponte Vecchio.
Ambience
The perfect blend of historic atmosphere, grandiose design and young invigorating service.
Infrastructure
Restaurant, culinary school, bar, cigar lounge with bar, "Bellevue" rooftop terrace with lounge, park with heated pool, pool bar, small gym, spa with massage and treatment rooms, sauna and steam room. Free shuttle service to central Florence.
Culinary
Rich breakfast buffet plus à la carte egg dishes. During the summer season, the restaurant is moved into the poolside pavilion, while during the winter months you will find it in the Moresque Room. Chef Alessandro Liberatore cultivates a light Italian cuisine.
Rooms
46 classic rooms and suites spread across three buildings: the villa, the former "Villino Eugenia" guest house near the pool and the little "La Follie" gatehouse. We prefer the more glamorous rooms in the villa. Here, each floor has its own theme: The rooms on the Bel Etage feature frescoes, the second floor is of rather feminine character and rose-themed, the third affect a Moorish style, while the fourth floor is taken up by just one Junior Suite designed in the style of the 1950s. All rooms feature luxurious Carrara marble bathrooms stocked with care products from the famous Florentine pharmacy Santa Maria di Novella.
Service
The staff are friendly, professional, and solicitous without seeming overtrained.

Villa Cora Hotel, Firenze

Villa Cora is a gem. You will find it difficult to decide what to explore first: the romantic rose arbour with its dazzling variety of a hundred different shades of white and pastel hues, or the villa's sumptuous salons with their impressive frescoes. It pays to pause for a moment to take in the painted ceiling in its rich detail, discover for example packs of cards and instruments and thus divine the original purpose of the salon – card room, music room, ball room. The villa itself is a striking neoclassicist building. Baron Gustav Oppenheim had the villa built in 1860 as a wedding gift for his bride Eugenia Fenzi. After their marriage had broken up, Empress Eugénie, widow of Napoleon\_III, took possession of the estate. The villa changed hands many times thereafter, eventually being bought by Antonella and Sandro Fratini (Rifle Jeans) who painstakingly restored it and opened their luxurious five-star boutique hotel in 2010. It is virtually impossible not to be enchanted by the villa's unfailing charm and character.

Princess for a while: In the imposing hotel lobby – a hall of mirrors in the style of Louis XV – and the grand rooms, history becomes almost palpable, though of course you still have the benefit of modern amenities.
If you like to sleep with your window open you may be disturbed by traffic noise from the highly frequented Viale Machiavelli.
