Individual ratings for Pollen Street Social

Location
Tucked away in a little side street off Regent Street in Mayfair, close to Oxford Circus.
Ambience
Urban, modern, and yet cosy. The starkly elegant restaurant is decorated with lots of oak and two long Chesterfield-style leather sofas.
Infrastructure
The restaurant is spread across three rooms: the front room with bar, the main room with the dessert counter and the panoramic window into the kitchen, and a separate private dining room in the basement.
Culinary
Modern British gourmet cuisine that has borne the accolade of one Michelin star since 2011.
Wine List
Extensive international wine list with 500 vintages. The one drawback: it is quite pricey.
Service
Competent, decidedly attentive and friendly.

Pollen Street Social Restaurant, London

Jason Atherton's interpretation of the modern British cuisine has met with universal success. He was the first Englishman who completed his training at the legendary elBulli under Ferran Adrià. In 2001, Atherton transferred to the Gordon Ramsay Group in London. Here, he served as Executive Chef at the "Maze" chain of restaurants before starting his own business in 2011. Today, Jason Atherton oversees an impressive gastronomy empire of his own, with restaurants in London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and New York. Among these, the most exciting place to dine is his flagship restaurant in London, Pollen Street Social in Mayfair, for this is where he himself does the cooking. A large panoramic window gives you a chance to watch him prepare the plates. He is unwavering in his commitment to regional produce from sustainable agriculture and livestock breeds. We are thrilled by his interpretation of the classic "bacon and eggs": juicy duck bacon with tender beech smoke flavour, served with a quail egg and crispy chips fried in duck fat with a dash of truffle. We are also quite intrigued by his cheesecake, which comes either with citrus or pumpkin, depending on the time of year. Closed on: Sundays
Price range €€
Jason Atherton's oeuvres will not only pamper your palate but will be a feast for your eyes, too, because of the handsome china on which they are presented to you. Be sure to swing over to the bar for dessert, so that you get to watch the sweet delights being prepared for you.
The tables are rather close together, which predictably causes things to get quite noisy.
