Individual ratings for L'Hôtel Particulier

Location
Located in a bucolic garden inside a courtyard, quiet and yet only a five-minute walk from Place du Forum.
Ambience
An intimate, thoroughly styled cocoon. The splendour of a manor combines with contemporary chic.
Infrastructure
Outdoor pool (not heated), breakfast room, bar, gift shop with wonderfully scented candles by Elisabeth de Feydeau, a small spa including hamam and treatment room, valet parking.
Culinary
A rich breakfast is served at the table, short orders from a snack menu may be ordered all day. While there is no restaurant at the hotel, it is a moot issue because you will find a number of restaurants within walking distance. We recommend in particular: "Chez Caro" and "A Côté" – the bistro of Michelin star-winning chef Jean-Luc Rabanel.
Rooms
17 bespoke rooms and suites decorated with a lavish attention to detail are spread across two buildings – the main building and the side building "33." The 7 rooms and suites in the genteel main buildings are particularly charming, while the rooms in the side buildings have modern interiors and furnishings. Bathrooms are stocked with the "Eau d'orange verte" line of cosmetics by Hermès. Complimentary WiFi.
Service
Brigitte Pagès de Oliveira and her team are fully dedicated to the well-being of their guests.

L'Hôtel Particulier Hotel, Arles

The allure of Arles is not limited to its famous bullfighting arena and the Roman portal of the church St-Trophime, but has recently been augmented by the addition of the Fondation Vincent van Gogh, opened in April 2014. In 1888, the Dutch painter let himself be inspired by the city of Arles, its colour, and its special light. During the 16 months he stayed here, he created nearly 200 paintings, including "Night Café" and "Café Terrace at Night." On Place du Forum, you will find the small café depicted in van Gogh's painting – unfortunately, it is just a tourist trap. Then again, the handsome L'Hôtel Particulier more than lives up to its name, and is a genuine find for us in Arles. This 18th century city palace of Baron de Chartreuse with a scenic inner courtyard hides behind an inconspicuous entrance portal. On the ground floor, the white parlour with its bar and gift shop encourage you to linger, but the loveliest place to be is among the shade trees in the garden. A genteel spiral staircase takes you to the awesome rooms and suites. You will feel right at home here, where the light works its magic until – who knows – you grab a brush and palette and start painting like van Gogh of yore. While tempted, we settle for a "selfie."
Price range €€
In the heart of the lively town of Arles, this picturesque courtyard with its old-growth trees is a wonderful place for having breakfast and taking it easy.
The use of the small spa is not included in the room rate.
