Individual ratings for L'Albiousse

Location
In a quiet side street in the heart of the pedestrian precinct of the medieval town of Uzès. The town is a strategically sensible starting point for exploring the Pont du Gard and the wineries of the Languedoc-Roussillon.
Ambience
The atmosphere is intimate. You will find historic elements cheek by jowl with modern gadgetry, all of it arranged in great taste.
Infrastructure
A lush green inner courtyard and an attractive dining and living room for the cold season.
Culinary
Rich breakfast consisting of regional products such as jams and honey from Uzès, home-made pancakes, muffins, cakes, and fresh-squeezed juice. While there is no in-house restaurant, table d'hôte fare is available upon request, and two fine restaurants, "La Table d'Uzès" and "L'Artemise," are within walking distance.
Rooms
2 grand rooms, 1 new studio, and 2 comfortable suites with private patios, spread across two floors. All come with modern bathrooms that feature large showers and are stocked with care products by Miller Harris. Soft drinks in the mini-bar and breakfast are included in the room rate. Complimentary WiFi. The studio and the two suites also feature a Nespresso coffee machine and a 24'' iMac.
Service
Before they moved to Uzès, Gwilym and Alexis ran a restaurant in Paris, which taught them the meaning of hospitality. The way in which they welcome their guests adds new significance to the word "cordial."

L'Albiousse Hotel, Uzès

Uzès is a marvellously quaint medieval town. The picturesque market square "Place aux Herbes," the ducal palace, and the many church steeples are testimony to its heyday when it was the seat of a bishopric. The narrow streets are lined with boutiques, galleries and charming street-side cafés. The small city palace of L'Albiousse, whose origins date back to the 16th century and which is named after its first owner, is particularly enticing. With a great love of detail, its new owners, Gwilym Cox and Alexis van Deinse converted the townhouse into a delightful Bed & Breakfast of five rooms. At first glance, the room numbers 102, 201 and 209 fail to make sense until you learn that the pay homage to aircraft such as the Convair F-102. The background to this is that your host, Gwilym, used to fly for Air France. In the guest rooms, the ancient original wooden ceilings from the 18th century combine with 21st century amenities such as modern bathrooms, 24'' iMacs and Nespresso coffeemakers. A sophisticated hideaway for romantics. With a view to the guests' need for quiet, the place is not open to children under the age of 14.
