Individual ratings for Chez Bruno

Location
An avenue of cypress trees fringed by grapevines takes you up to the restaurant with its large garden. The restaurant is located below the village of Lorgues.
Ambience
Classically decorated dining rooms with tromp l'oeil painting and countless photographies of celebrity guests grace the walls, among them a life-sized Clément Bruno with arms flung afar as if to bless the country and its people.
Infrastructure
In addition to the restaurant, which divides into 3 dining rooms, there are a porch, two patios, 7 guest rooms, and outdoor pool inside the groomed garden. Valet parking is available.
Culinary
There is a new 5-course menu every day, though you do get to pick the type of truffle you fancy. The price of each menu depends on the truffle type, and ranges from €71 for the Tuber Aestivum to €190 for the more intense-tasting Alba truffle.
Wine List
The extensive wine list is limited to French vintages.
Service
Superbly choreographed wait service: attentive, competent, and very warm.

Chez Bruno Restaurant, Lorgues

The culinary tenet of "Chez Bruno" could be summed up as follows: truffles, more truffles and truffles again. Complemented by foie gras just as copiously. That's it. Well, perhaps it isn't quite as simple. For the actual secret of success is the passion for cooking that Clément Bruno and his sons Benjamin and Samuel share. You can taste the passion in every bite you take, starting with the truffles, followed by an entire truffle bulb in puff pastry, and moving on to the fillet of beef "Rossini" with foie gras seared to a crisp and sprinkled in plenty of truffle chips. It goes without saying that truffles are also liberally used in the preparation of the potato fluff served on the side . As pre-desert, we had a scoop of soft-melting rich ice cream flavoured with – you guessed it – truffle. The one thing taking exception was the concluding dish: As grand finale, we had the poached apricots with raspberries and verbena ice cream. Closed on: Mondays during the off-season, but open every day between mid-June and mid-September
Price range €€€
A dream come true for lovers of the truffle: Clément Bruno is anything but frugal in his use of truffles – they are liberally grated over every dish. We were thrilled – not least because digital scales were nowhere to be seen.
Truffles are a rare delicacy, and simply have their price.
