Individual ratings for Crayon

Location
A great starting point to explore Paris. Right in the heart of the 1st Arrondissement and very close to the Rue St. Honoré, the Palais-Royal and the Louvre.
Ambience
A carefully designed, very charming guest house, exuding both warmth and character.
Infrastructure
Small bar and breakfast room.
Culinary
There is no restaurant at the hotel. Two different kinds of breakfast are on offer: the whole buffet for €12.00 and the "express continental" at the bar for €7.00.
Rooms
27 colourful individually designed rooms. The walls are decorated with female nude silhouette sketches, a signature of Julie Gauthron, an artist who presents these same works of art elsewhere as sculptures with a day-glow effect.
Service
Very friendly, attentive and – amazingly – fluent in English.

Crayon Hotel, Paris

Le Crayon is anything but a typical three-star hotel, but rather appears to be a stylish residential community – modern, eccentric, colourful and very cosy all at the same time. Many guests miss the hotel entrance because they are under the impression of simply passing by a retro furniture store. It took Julie Gauthron and Christophe Sauvage two years to collect the furniture from antique dealers and flee markets. The furniture consists of hand-picked design objects, a successful combination of antiquities and Pop Art. Ideal for individualists and those who love the intricacies of interior design: they'll be quite enchanted.
Price range
Aroma therapy! Push a button to increase or decrease the intensity of the room scent, a hand-picked aroma oil. You may choose, for instance, between "Hausmann" with its scent of wood and leather and "Marché" with its scent of freshly-picked tomatoes and lettuce.
While this venue is located right in the city centre, the street itself is hard to find. Beware of Parisian cab drivers!
