Individual ratings for Villa René Lalique
Set in a park with stands of old-growth trees on the edge of the village Wingen-sur-Moder in the northern Vosges mountains. Just under an hour's drive from Strasbourg.
As you climb the black stairway inside the mansion, you will discover original pictures of the mansion as well as of René Lalique and his family. Down to the very details, the painstakingly converted mansion celebrates the legacy of jewellery and glass artist René Lalique.
A gourmet restaurant, a lounge, a bar, a wine cellar, and even a helipad.
Paul Stradner rules the kitchen. His dishes are rich in colour and contrast – and have been awarded with 2 Michelin stars. The way the dishes are presented pays homage to Lalique. You will keep seeing the company logo throughout the evening, from the butter, to the casserole of duck foie gras, all the way to the friandises and the milk froth on your espresso macchiato.
6 luxurious themed suites in the style of the Art Déco, furnished with pieces from the "Lalique Maison" collection. Crystal objects grace every suite, carefully chosen to harmonise with the interior decorating theme. Bedsteads, consoles, night stands, mirrors, pillows and bed linens all pick up on the respective theme. All of the suites come with bathrooms featuring both tub and separate shower as well as crystal fittings.
Very attentive, warm and solicitous.
Villa René Lalique Hotel, Wingen-sur-Moder
The history-steeped Villa Lalique was commissioned by René Lalique in 1920, who stayed here with his family whenever they came to the Alsace. Its present owner, Silvio Denz, was keen to invest the house with new splendour. He turned it into a small-but-beautiful hotel of six unique suites complete with a gourmet restaurant. He entrusted the interior decoration to Lady Tina Green and Pietro Mingarelli, the masterminds behind the furniture of the "Lalique Maison" label. Each of the six suites is different, and each commemorates the name of an original work by the famed glass artist. The restaurant resembles a glass cube extending from the time-honoured mansion. The modern structure with its vast wine cellar shows the handwriting of celebrated architect Mario Botta, and creates an accomplished link between old and new, and between indoor and outdoor.
