Individual ratings for Les Haras

Location
At the edge of the historic quarter "La Petite France." A great point of departure if you are out to explore the city.
Ambience
The equestrian theme is reiterated throughout in dexterous modern ways. For instance, all of the rooms show a saddle leather theme.
Infrastructure
Brasserie Les Haras, breakfast room with bar, and pretty inner courtyard complete with Lounge.
Culinary
This is something Strasbourg has long waited for: a high-key brasserie that captures the spirit of our day and age. The designers installed a spectacular staircase to link the two main rooms. It is absolutely delightful to dine on the former hayloft, under the open rafters. In the show kitchen you get to watch chef François Baur and his entourage at work. French classics as well as Alsatian specialities are reinterpreted with a modern twist. The brasserie is headed by 3-star chef Marc Haeberlin.
Rooms
55 as-new modern rooms are spread over four buildings, and are all done in earthy colours: beige, caramel, brown and grey. The interior decoration make heavy use of wood and leather, lending an irresistible nutty-musky scent to the rooms. All rooms feature tea kettles, mini-bars, high-end paraben-free care products in the bathrooms and complimentary WiFi.
Service
Decidedly solicitous and empathetic to the guests' needs.

Les Haras Hotel, Strasbourg

Three gems under one and the same roof: In October 2013, the former state livery stable Les Haras opened for business as elegant design hotel, complemented by a stylish brasserie (book solid night after night) and "Biocluster," a business incubator letting units to innovative start-ups in the research and medical sectors. All rooms have been designed by the famous designer and architects Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku in a style both casual and informal. The two did a clever job incorporating historic elements in their refurbishment. There are stools resembling saddle rests, while bathrooms have wooden sliding doors closed with a leather strap, and the wall coverings are made of the finest leather by the same manufacturer that also supplies Hermès. An accomplished modern design in warm earthy colours that will appeal not just to horsemen and architecture buffs.
Price range
The lush inner courtyard with its majestic roughly 400-year-old Japanese pagoda tree (sophora japonica) is a sanctuary of tranquillity in the very heart of the city. If you like sleeping with the windows open, you should book a room overlooking the courtyard.
The mansard rooms in the historic buildings have very small roof windows and are rather gloomy.
