Individual ratings for Restaurant 1741

Location
Right in the historic town centre, across from the Palais Rohan and a few minutes' walk from the Strasbourg Cathedral.
Ambience
Done in the boudoir style, the salons have a feminine, intimate and elegant touch.
Infrastructure
The small salons are spread across four storeys: each floor featuring between two and five elegantly set tables. A rare and beautiful touch is the Hermès china and the artful silverware.
Culinary
Creative modern French cuisine; was awarded a Michelin star in 2014. It is always a good idea to choose one of the menus – original seasonal oeuvres with a sound value-for-money ratio. 3-course menu for €38 (lunchtime) or €89 (dinnertime).
Wine List
A well appointed wine cellar with 2,000 vintages and around 12,000 bottles altogether, most of them from French vineyards, with an amazingly large number of organic wines among them.
Service
Professional, competent, solicitous and discrete.

Restaurant 1741 Restaurant, Strasbourg

The restaurant's name commemorates the year the Palais Rohan across from it was completed: 1741. We say it's a must-do for any connoisseur of the modern French cuisine. For the two new owners who took over this little restaurant in the heart of Strasbourg in February 2014 are well known in the region, one being the multiple restaurant owner Cédric Moulot, the other Olivier Nasti, the famous two-star chef from Kaysersberg. The menu Olivier Nasti composed is characterised by innovative impulses, implemented by his trainee, Guillaume Scheer. The young chef easily won us over with foie gras seared to a crisp and served on nougat, followed by mille-feuilles with pumpkin and lobster, the main course being turbot on leek and mushrooms. We concluded with a variation of three different "grand cru" chocolates. Be sure to leave some room for the marvellous "friandises" or sweetmeats, but above all be sure to sample the "tarte au citron"! Closed on: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Price range €€
This is the kind of place we have long hunted for in Strasbourg! Steering clear of any Alsatian stereotypes and doll house frills, the "1741" is a refined no-nonsense venue for demanding gourmets.
The one thing missing is a patio or garden for sitting outside during the summers months.
