Individual ratings for La Place de Mougins

Location
It is nearly impossible to get lost in Mougins, because all streets will take you to Mougins Square and the eponymous restaurant.
Ambience
At first glance, the interior decoration may strike you as chilly, which is just as well because nothing will distract you from the main thing here, the culinary oeuvres. The room is dominated by dark wood, and by chairs and sofas upholstered in beige. Artwork on the walls reminds guests of the fact that Mougins is also a village of galleries. The ambience is low-key, modest, and laid back.
Infrastructure
The restaurant extends across two floors. Especially during the colder time of year, the second floor is used for dining. Bar, smoking lounge, a class rooms, and a small store, "Boutique de la Place," stocking the sweet delights prepared by the chef. Lovely terrace for the warm season.
Culinary
Denis Fétisson well deserves the award "Best Young Chef" (sponsored by Yannick Allen) he received in 2006. For several years, this young gun worked side by side with some of the best chefs in France. Today, he dishes out exciting gustatory combinations in his own restaurant. He creative fresh-market cuisine certainly won us over on all counts.
Wine List
All the important ones are in stock, with most regions represented with leading names. The emphasis is on wines from the Provence.
Service
Muriel, the charming wife of Denis Fétisson, and the well trained crew take loving and yet professional care of their guests.

La Place de Mougins Restaurant, Mougins

From Cannes, a winding road will take you nine kilometres into the green hinterland. Here, you will find the picturesque hamlet of Mougins clinging to the hillside, and even Pablo Picasso was enchanted by the place. In 1961, he settled in the Provençal manor house "Mas de Notre-Dame de Vie" near Mougins, where he lived until his death in 1973. However, the artist community is not only a popular destination of Picasso admirers, but also of culinary pilgrims. For it is also the home of the gifted young chef Denis Fétisson (formerly at "Le Cheval Blanc" in Courchevel), who came here in 2010. You cannot miss his restaurant, because it is located in the middle of the square, and actually bears its name – "La Place de Mougins." Closed on: Mondays and Tuesdays

Outstanding culinary art – served in a truly grand location!
The supreme standard of the cuisine makes you sort of expect a refined ambience in the dining room, too.
