At the entrance to the historic town centre of Vence, right next to the "Pharmacie du Frêne," the oldest pharmacy on the Côte d'Azur.
Ambience
All of the room interiors were designed by Thierry Marchiso himself. He describes his style as a mix of pop, Baroque, and kitsch.
Infrastructure
A colourful, eccentric breakfast room, and a parlour with library.
Culinary
Small French breakfast, lovingly prepared. There is no restaurant at the hotel.
Rooms
Four spacious rooms, done in a blend of an elegant Provence style, a 1950s Riviera flair, and pop art. All of the rooms are decorated with a number of artworks, fitted with large wet rooms, and air-conditioned.
Service
Thierry and Guy will take care of you in the most cordial way, like a close and fussy friend.

La Maison du Frêne Hotel, Vence

This intimate Bed & Breakfast is one good reason for staying an extra day or two in Vence. While it won't take you long to tour the historic town centre and see the famous "Chapelle du Rosaire" with its stained glass windows and wall ornaments by Henri Matisse, the picturesque little town with its narrow streets will make you want to extend your stay and have more time to take in the serene Provençal mood. The colourful B&B is housed behind an inconspicuous 18th-century façade with an awesome private collection of contemporary art and four large suites. A spiral staircase will take you up to the first floor, where three opulent parlours, dominated by playful forms and eccentric colours, will tempt you to chill out, read, and take your breakfast. You will instantly realise that this house is the product of a profound love of art. Proprietor Thierry Marchiso lived in Paris for many years. At some point, he decided to turn his back on the cosmetics sector and celebrities, and to to return to his home town of Vence. Here, he turned his idea of beauty into reality, creating a B&B that is a true artwork.

This hotels is quite a surprise! You would expect this place with all its art in Paris, but hardly in Vence.
There is, alas, no garden to enjoy this charming B&B out of doors, too.
