Modern Zen-style ambience.

Small restaurant with tight bistro-style seating. Weather permitting, the food is served in the restaurant's small Japanese garden.

Keishi Sugimura's creations are quite unique and definitely worth a detour. Each and every course was purely delicious. The "Homard bleu" is quite addictive.

Small wine menu, the focus being on local specialities.

Kind and competent service in French and English.

Le Bénaton Restaurant, Beaune

The culinary pilgrimage site par excellence in Beaune. Do not let the plain Zen-style interior give you pause, for the food set before you will speak for itself. Keishi Sugimura's speciality is to reinterpret French classics. Indeed, the light fare he serves are amazingly innovative. A pleasure for the eye and palate, and a relief the next time you step on the scales. His creative aroma cuisine earned him one Michelin star. We actually feel that his refined cuisine definitely deserves a second star. Closed on: Wednesdays all day, and during lunchtime Thursdays and Saturdays

The sophisticated creations are presented in equally innovative, nifty ways. A pleasure to look at, and a pleasure to eat. For us, it is the culinary pilgrimage site par excellence in Beaune.
