Individual ratings for The George
Centrally located between Aussenalster and the trendy district of St. Georg, a 10-minute walk from the central railway station.
Exterior in the tradition of British understatement, interior done in the glamorous design of the "new British style."
Large bar cultivating British bar culture, the Italian restaurant "DaCaio," library, small spa in Moroccan style complete with sauna, 2 treatment rooms and terrace, rooftop patio with lounge, and a perfectly manicured English garden in the rear of the building.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the urbane restaurant "DaCaio." Italian summer cuisine combines with top wine selections from all regions of Italy, recommended by sommelier Carlo to match your menu choices.
125 modern rooms spread across five floors. All equipped with useful dressing tables that double as desks, magnificent oversized beds, tea kettles, iPod docks, and complimentary WiFi. The two top room categories come with Jura coffeemakers. A small number of rooms have a private patio with a view of the Aussenalster.
Friendly and well-trained staff. We were particularly thrilled by the professional competence and creativity of the barkeeper.

Great extras in the rooms, such as nude-coloured tights just in case, and violet-coloured dumbbells that are meant to encourage guests to do their workout on the riverbank.
Most rooms actually have no view of the lake – indeed none of the rooms on second, third, and fourth floor do. Only three rooms have a scenic view and a dedicated balcony.
