Individual ratings for Hotel Zoo

Location
Let's be honest: No matter whether you are a tourist in the classic sense, a regular visitor of Berlin or a VIP, wouldn't you want to stay right on Kurfürstendamm, the most important high-street pitch in the city?
Ambience
It used to, and will again, be the VIP hotel for the Berlinale film festival. In their day, Romy Schneider, Grace Kelly and Gina Lollobrigida stepped out right onto the red carpet. Now reopened, the Hotel Zoo only changed the colour of the carpet.
Infrastructure
The restaurant "Grace" with two patios, a bar, a living room, a smoking room in the conservatory, a rooftop patio, a gym, spa applications in cooperation with Aveda (either just next door or in your hotel room).
Culinary
The "Grace" restaurant offers a rich breakfast, and modern, aromatic cuisine without frills. Unusual flavours are carefully blended in to harmonise the gustatory experience in a novel way.
Rooms
145 unique rooms and suites with industrial charm, overlooking either Kurfürstendamm or the inner courtyard. All of them feature dark parquet flooring, a Nespresso coffee machine, Apple TV, a rain shower or (sometimes free-standing) tubs. Thick plush towels in the bathrooms, and bathrobes of the brand Maison Martin Margiela, along with care products of the "Liquid Dreams" line by April Aromatics, the cosmetics brand of Berlin-based perfumer Tanja Bochnig.
Service
Most of the staff have a background in 5-star hospitality. You will notice this in their professional, suave and friendly manner. That said, certain processes, such as the check-in, show room for improvement.

Hotel Zoo Hotel, Berlin

Feel nostalgic about the Roaring Twenties? If so, the recently opened Hotel Zoo on Kurfürstendamm will transport you back in time to the days of the Charleston and Absinthe-sipping bohème of Berlin. This is a history-steeped glamour hotel made by VIPs for VIPs. You enter the svelte venue by walking down a jade-green runner by Diane von Fürstenberg that features a design of prowling leopards. This cat walk of 22 metres will take you to the reception. Here, the room widens to give you a good look of the hotel's centre piece, the Living Room. The original brick masonry from 1891 now exposed, a large hearth, ceilings seven metres high, hand-crafted stucco, and oversized industrial windows strike an accomplished balance between a New York townhouse atmosphere and classic elegance.
Price range
For the ladies: nail varnish in the mini-bar. Together with the Berlin-based brand Uslu Airlines, the Hotel Zoo created its very own colour – a shade of jade green! For the gents: risqué photo art from a voyeuristic perspective. Just before it closed for the refurbishment, Swedish photographer Andreas Kock used the hotel's old rooms as set for his photo series "Stalker."
The small rooms of the lowest category are fitted with minute wardrobe wall units and are definitely not meant for travellers with big suitcases and aspirations.
