Location
A truly unique location, eye level with the Matterhorn! The "Riffelalp Resort" is situated on an elevated plateau (2,222 m above sea level), 20 minutes from Zermatt by the Gornergrat rack railway. The hotel is accessible via rack railway only.
Ambience
Indoors, a blazing fireplace welcomes you, and the wooden interior and exterior fittings create a warm and comfy ambience. Discreet luxury in an exclusive isolation.
Infrastructure
3 restaurants, a smokers' lounge, a bowling alley, ice rink during the winter months, tennis court and tram in the summer, kindergarten as well as spa with an indoor pool, outdoor pool (35 degree Celsius), a sauna area, massage rooms and a fitness studio.
Culinary
Culinary variety at the Alpine resort: Gourmet cheeses at the "Walliserkeller," Italian cuisine at the elegant chalet "Al Bosco," "Deluxe-Lunch-Relax" at the sun terrace of the "Mark Twain Lounge" and ambitious market cuisine at the half board restaurant "Alexandre."
Rooms
Two separate buildings – "Nostalgie" and "Chalet" – offer 65 rustic rooms, 5 large suites and 2 apartments. We prefer the large rooms in the more modern "Chalet" building, all of them have balconies.

Europe's highest 5-star resort is situated high above the town of Zermatt, at 2,222 m above sea level, a world of its own, set apart form the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Noble and rustic at once, the "Riffelalp Resort" offers its guests one of the most splendid Alpine vistas. You may strap on your skis right in front of the house which is situated at the heart of the "Gornergrat" ski area. The hotel's interior design is dominated by plenty of wood and other natural materials. The wood's aromatic scent has a soothing and relaxing quality. It is a good place to regain your inner balance, be it through skiing, bathing in the pleasantly warm outdoor pool, or lounging comfortably in an armchair in front of the fireplace and nibbling chocolate.

Location is everything! You practically sleep by the side of the ski slope.
During the cold season, you can book rooms only for entire weeks, Saturday through Saturday. Over Christmas and New Year, the minimum stay is 10 nights.
