Far from the main-travelled tourist trails, in the hamlet of Seseglio above Chiasso. Quiet and bucolic – in the middle of a vineyard.

If you are looking for an authentic experience of the Ticino, look no farther: elegant yet rustic rooms in a quaint Ticinian stone house.

Infrastructure

The restaurant is spread across three rustic dining rooms. The tables are draped with elegant white linen. During the summer months, meals are served in the bucolic garden with view of the vineyard.

Culinary

Ambrogio Stefanetti's ambitious, traditional fresh-market cuisine is honest, down-to-earth and creative at the same time. His pasta oeuvres are definitely worth overindulging, and you should by all means try the tender gnocchis!

Nice, well-appointed wine menu, the focus being on Ticinian grapes.

A mandatory stop for anyone looking for authentic Ticinian hospitality, and seeking to mingle with local gourmets. Ambroglio Stefanetti took over the "Vecchia Osteria" in Seseglio in 2007, and developed it into a top restaurant. Even and especially your plate will testify to the proximity of Italy: The traditional dishes are prepared using premium regional produce and spiced up with a dash of innovation. It takes more than just talent to produce such magical creations. We are thoroughly thrilled and love to do a pit stop here whenever we head south. If you find that the wining and dining has rendered you less than roadworthy, you may take either of two recently renovated rooms on the upper floor. Closed on: Sunday nights and Mondays

We are deeply infatuated with this idyllic garden terrace where you dine among the vines. A mandatory stop for anyone seeking authentic Ticinian hospitality.

While the staff is doing a marvellous job, it is inevitable that you may spend some time waiting. No harm done: When on holiday, time should not be an issue.
