Individual ratings for The Alpina Gstaad

Location
The Alpina is located on a level with the Palace above Gstaad's towns centre. The hotel is embedded in a magnificent park extending over 20,000 sqm.
Ambience
The hotel with its four prominent towers pointing skywards in each corner displays the style of architecture typical for the mountain region. The hotel's interior design is rather modern, paying homage to the Switzerland's alpine chalet style while upgrading it suavely to contemporary elegance. A relaxed atmosphere of luxury, where old and new money congregate in perfect harmony.
Infrastructure
3 restaurants, Switzerland's first Six Senses Spa (featuring an indoor as well as an outdoor pool, a salt cave, a hamam, a yoga studio etc.), a fine Cigar Lounge with a large humidor (500 different types of cigars), private cinema, Kids Club, and an awesome garage cut right into the mountainside.
Culinary
The large culinary variety offered here is expertly directed by the celebrated German Chef Martin Göschel: from the Japanese restaurant "Megu" (itself a branch of the legendary Japanese restaurant in New York City, one Michelin star) to the creative gourmet cuisine of the restaurant "Sommet" (one Michelin star), and all the way to the alpine dishes of the "Swiss Stübli". It is certainly worthwhile to dine at the hotel!
Rooms
Lobby, bar and all of the 56 spacious rooms and suites (all of which feature a balcony) are decorated in a chic alpine style. Ceilings with traditional wood carvings, wooden wall panneling, headboards made of leather and lamps shaped like cow bells create a cosy atmosphere. The luxurious bathrooms are stocked with Acqua di Parma cosmetics.
Service
The highly competent hotel staff take equally good care of people and pets, be they small or grown-up, pampering all guests alike in an unpretentious, suave and warmly solicitous manner.

The Alpina Gstaad Hotel, Gstaad

Those who love the mountains and Gstaad but do not appreciate red-and-white chequered patterns, will love The Alpina, created by Marcel Bach and Jean-Claude Mimran. The Alpine combines traditional alpine architecture with fresh modern design and a discrete type of luxury. Classified as a five-star-superior hotel, it splendidly combines cosy alpine chic with stylistic elements from Asia. Ancient fir wood, hand-carved stones, natural materials such as leather, linen, cashmere and furs are mixed with state-of-the-art Zen design at the Japanese "Megu" restaurant and at the Six Senses Spa, the concept of which is rooted in oriental tradition. Whether you're joining a yoga retreat or take part in a fasting program with potent Detox Delight juices or whether you'd prefer a tough alpine workout – at the Alpina, anyone will get their mental and physical bearings back. Our favourite place to shape up.

Unobstructed view of the impressive mountain landscape, because all cars are tucked away into the huge underground car park in the mountainside. Coming up the driveway, crossing the elegant natural stone floor hemmed in by waterfalls is in itself quite an experience.
Everything at The Alpina radiates authenticity, luxury, comfort, and peerless service. Why lose any sleep over room rates?
