Individual ratings for Le Grand Bellevue

Location
Situated in the midst of a large park, in the town centre of Gstaad. One end of the promenade is just metres away from the hotel.
Ambience
A "grande dame" who has reinvented herself, now flaunting a playful, brightly coloured, casual and easy-going.
Infrastructure
Restaurant "Leonard", a sushi bar, the fondue restaurant "Le Petit Chalet" in the hotel garden, a bar, a cigar lounge, a private cinema, a 2500-sqm spa area with indoor pool and gym, and a kids club (under supervision in the wintertime).
Culinary
Classic cuisine with a modern twist, awarded a Michelin star. Chef Urs Gschwendner, well known in Switzerland's high-end hospitality, worked at the "Giardino" in Ascona before coming to Gstaad. Don't forget to try his famous risotto!
Rooms
57 rooms and suites are spread across the main building and two chalets. You have a choice of red or green hues when booking a room. All rooms feature wooden floors, carefully selected design objects, brightly coloured fabrics and a Nespresso coffee machine each. We prefer the rooms in the main building.
Service
Marked by silent perfection. The highly dedicated team combines professional finesse with personal warmth.

Le Grand Bellevue Hotel, Gstaad

Dating back to 1912,this "grande dame" has been smartly upgraded to face the future, a particularly accomplished example of turning a musty vintage venue into a state-of-the-art fairy tale palace. Even the lobby, now a carefree upbeat affair, will make you feel right at home. The hotel's new owners, Davia and Daniel Koetser, have a profound love for detail and impeccable taste – and it shows everywhere you go, be it one of the bird cage swings or in front of the blazing fireplace. Leonard, a huge dromedary dressed in elegant tweed, welcomes the restaurant's guests. Before turning your attention to chef Urs Gschwend's culinary delights, do take a moment to plop onto the 17-metre Chesterfield sofa and sample from the huge selection of 300 different whiskies. Very British indeed.
Price range €€€
This is a hotel to make you feel good! The lobby proves once and for all that colourful design and tradition can go together very well indeed.
The Zen-style spa with its Japanese garden is a relic from the former owners and does not quite match the ambience of the hotel as a whole.
