Hotel Stein Hotel, Salzburg

Hotel Stein is Salzburg’s latest lifestyle and design hotel. Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the hotel’s new motto is clearly: “Salzburg meets Venice.” The colour blue and its associated hues were chosen as dominant stylistic element for the interior decoration. Blue as the waters of a lagoon and blue as the colour of the sky — the sense of brightness and lightness of the new concept invests the venue with an entirely new atmosphere that takes its cue from international lifestyle trends but has created a fully autonomous design universe. In many parts of the hotel, you will find blue lights manufactured specifically for the Stein and glass artwork by the Venetian glassworks of Barovier & Toso. The modern rooms are very tastefully decorated, again accentuated with blue highlights. Large-scale photographies by Luigi Caputo that show snapshots from Salzburg and Venice grace the walls and skilfully invoke a connection between the two cities. Truly stylish lodgings right on the bank of the River Salzach — perfect for those of us who love staying in spanking new rooms.

Price range €€
Splendid 360° panoramic view from the roof terrace, which overlooks the town centre, the fortress, the cathedral and the river Salzach.
The building is a listed heritage site, a fact that forced the architect to compromise his ideas here and there.
