Location
In a wildly romantic garden, with splendid panoramic view of Montepulciano and Montefollonico. A ten-minute car ride will take you to Montepulciano.
Ambience
But what makes Follonico truly popular with bohemians, creative minds and every other sort of guest is the refined interior design and the straightforward hospitality of Suzanne and Fabio. This is where like-minded art and design aficionados congregate over breakfast, exchange travel tips, and make inspiring acquaintances.
Infrastructure
Eat-in dining room with a long table that is used for communal breakfast. A garden scented by jasmine shrubs and rosebushes and including a pool and a magnificent long-distance view of Montefollonico and Montepulciano.
Culinary
Great organic breakfast including home-baked bread and fresh eggs from the resident chicken. While there is no in-house restaurant, this is hardly a problem because there are several great places in the vicinity – most notably the “La Botte Piena” slow-food osteria in Montefollonico.

There are no TV sets in the six suites, not least because each one of them is itself a stage set of sorts. In the “Verde Intenso” suite, a bridal dress hangs from the wrought-iron coat rack, with matching satin shoes on the floor beneath it. The bare walls are whitewashed, the textiles have a stark and natural look. In this kind of ambience, the old type writer on the table becomes a decorative statement. “Semplice” – as simple as possible – is the term that owners Suzanne Simons and Fabio Firli use to describe the artfully arranged interior of vintage furniture in boho chic, with flaking layers of paint on the doors, a bric-à-brac of colourful enamelled pots along the exterior façade, and a pair of wellies next to the entrance casually accentuate the whole. Free-range geese and chicken roam the garden, and in the distance you can see Montefollonico and Montepulciano. A picture book scene of Tuscany!

A wonderful Bed & Breakfast place in southern Tuscany with an excellent value-for-money ratio.
Days in Follonico start at an early hour with geese chattering and chicken cackling happily after laying their eggs.
