Individual ratings for Zash

Location
A stand-alone structure surrounded by an enormous orange grove south of Riposto. From here, it is 1.7 km to the nearest sandy beach, and 32 km to Taormina.
Ambience
Modest elegance radiates from behind ancient robust walls and a cool glass cube in the garden.
Infrastructure
Restaurant, lounge, garden with outdoor pool, complimentary use of bicycles.
Culinary
Italian breakfast with fresh-squeezed orange juice directly from the grove, and regional products, served at table on a tray. Sicilian cuisine in the evening (reservations requested).

9 as-new, starkly modern rooms in white, a few of them with patio and view of the sea. Four of them are located in the manor house, three in the former wine cellar, and two in the new glass cube in the garden. All rooms have modern bathrooms.
Service
Personal, attentive and of disarming warmth.

Zash Hotel, Riposto

As soon as you take the motorway exit "Giarre" you will be glad you booked the "sat nav" when hiring the car. Because the route to the Zash boutique hotel leads you past citrus groves and down small country lanes with plenty of ways to get lost. Originally a winery, the small boutique hotel was meticulously refurbished before it opened in 2012. Ancient vaults, lava rock flagstones, and the faded lettering "Il fascismo per tutto il popolo italiano" on the façade bring you face to face with the history of the building, and are remindful of Sicily's turbulent past. Inside, the architect Antonio Iraci has blended old and new components into a cool and elegant melange. Hues of white and grey dominate the plainly decorated public rooms and the designer guest rooms. Sparsely furnished rooms and straight lines ensure the focus remains on the enchanting landscape. To be sure, the view of the sear and the Etna are magnificent. This is a refreshing temporary abode for individualists and anyone keen to discover the volcano and the Etna region with its wineries.
Price range
To us, the Zash seems like the very epitome of a country boutique hotel very close to the sea. All you need to do to get to the beach is hop on your bicycle and ride down to the sea past the orange groves.
A regional railway right-of-way passes behind the house. Trains start running at 6:00 o'clock in the morning. So if you need undisturbed peace and quiet, this may be the wrong place to come to.
