Individual ratings for Kitty Fisher's

In the heart of Mayfair, on Shepherd Market.
Cosy, plush, and mysterious – paying homage to famous courtesan Kitty Fisher.
Bar on the ground floor, restaurant in the basement, and a small boulevard patio out front for the warmer time of year.
Straight-forward British home cooking, lovingly presented by head chef Tomos Parry. Classics: beef tartare, gazpacho, rib eye steak, and lamb cutlets.
Wine List
The list is accommodated on a single sheet: white and sparkling wines on the front, and red wines on the backside. Many of the wines are sold by the glass. These drinks are complemented by a nice selection of fine cocktails with names like "Good Kitty," "Bald Kitty" and "Smoke and Mirrors."
It's instant appeal makes this place stand out and will draw you in.

Kitty Fisher's Restaurant, London

Kitty Fisher's is one of those restaurant tips you would actually like to keep to yourself. At first glance, the small place seems rather inconspicuous, not least because of all the other restaurants in its immediate vicinity that make more of an effort to tempt the eye. Its special character reveals itself only upon closer inspection: lovingly arranged bouquets of wild flowers on the tables, intimate lighting, neatly framed engravings, and charming staff who welcome you in the most genial way. The bar and a few tables are located in the entrance area. Your host will take you to your table downstairs. Don't be put off by the idea of dining in the basement, because the dark-grey room is suffused in a warm light, with candles further enhancing the cosy atmosphere. Here, you will feel the heartbeat of the restaurant, especially at the tables next to the kitchen. Once you are seated on the pink velvet sofa, you may feel transported back to the 18th century – the time when courtesan Kitty Fisher had servants in livery carry her about London in an armchair. Closed on: Sundays

It has a wonderful cosy-plush ambience without seeming musty. It is quite tempting to linger.
The window-less dining room in the basement is not a good idea for the claustrophobic-minded.
