Abbaye de la Bussiere Hotel, La Bussière-sur-Ouche

First written mention of the "Abbaye de la Bussiere" dates back to the year 696. At the time, the place went under the name of "Tres Valles." Later, in 1131, when the Cistercian monks moved into the area, the abbey was re-named "Vallis Beatae Mariae de Buxeria" (the valley of St. Mary of Buxeria). The word "Buxeria" comes from the combination of the words "Aria" and "Buxus," meaning "covered by trees." To this day, you will be overwhelmed by the huge park with its old-growth stock of trees and pond welcoming you as you arrive. The tastefully restored abbey with its original frescoes is an unpretentious place of enjoyment and veneration.
Price range
The tastefully restored abbey with its original frescoes is an unpretentious place of enjoyment and veneration. We are quite enchanted by the place. Time seems to have stopped here.
The location of the hotel is rather secluded, and it is hard to get there without a car.
