Om – high time to recharge your soul with carefree energy

Om! It is the sacred syllable for pooling energy and reducing stress. Om! We will keep repeating it like a mantra in unison with our yoga teacher, Jan Leys, in the Swiss hamlet of Vals. Challenging times such as these make it all the more important to learn to cope with unwelcome negative vibes and to connect to your own body on a deeper level.

Ready for some time out? The Pillow & Pepper Mountain Yoga Retreat in the pristine alpine world of Vals offers you the ideal opportunity for a change of scene and a short breather to get your energy level back up. You will be very active, eat fine and healthy food, laugh a lot, and in the process refresh your body, mind and spirit. Take some time out to take good care of yourself for a change.

Mountain Yoga Retreat in Vals from 15 to 18 April 2021

Intense yoga, balancing pranayama, silent meditation, but also guided tours through the alpine world of the Grisons, gourmet ‘clean eating’, and communal time spent in a wonderful group—all of these will give you ample opportunity to pamper yourself on all levels. Our teacher Jan Leys knows how to establish direct connections between yoga, meditation and day-to-day life.

The body and its function have always fascinated Jan Leys, a former dancer from Antwerp. Moving on, he studied movement under Loyd Williamson. It marked a fresh start on his journey, whose theme had so far been the question: “How do I develop the body into a tool that supports my life?” The work with Loyd Williamson, however, changed the question to: “How do I develop the body into a tool that actually helps me live?”

The subtle, yet significant, difference prompted Jan to familiarise himself with yoga, meditation, tai chi and qi gong. The philosophies underlying these types of movement greatly influence the hatha yoga he practices for 30 years. Jan Leys has been living in Switzerland since 2011, teaching in Herrliberg and Zumikon

A total retreat for body, mind and soul

The 7132 Hotel in Vals treats you to the amenities of a 5-star luxury hotel, whereas the 7132 House of Architects offers you inspiring rooms designed by world-class architects, and the thermal baths make you feel like an explorer discovering a mysterious world of stone and water. Om!

How about sitting up straight for a moment? Close your eyes, breathe deeply from the pit of your stomach a few times, in and out, and focus on the point on your forehead between your eyebrows. As soon as you are ready, sound your Om, and experience its echo, the ensuing silence.

Let us wish you a mindful Sunday and look forward to seeing you soon on your yoga mat in Vals. Until then, do stay safe and healthy please.

Namaste!
