Christmas trees and decoration are twinkling and sparkling everywhere you look. It is no different here at our editorial office. An intense, eventful year is drawing to a close. We visited more than 300 hotels and restaurants across Europe, testing and evaluating them anonymously and independently. The 269 finest venues that had made a lasting impression on us we profiled in detail. And these are the ones we present on pillowandpepper.com. The most important day for us this year was 21 June 2014 – the day we went live. Nothing, however, exited us like the copious feedback from you, dear members, partners and friends. Twinkling Christmas - and Hotel Stars.
“No matter how many stars sparkle above a hotel, every place has fine and not-so-fine rooms,” says Joanna Peyer, editor and co-founder of Pillow & Pepper. “For nearly 10 years now, I've been collecting room numbers the way other people collect jewellery or shoes. I always keep notes on the rooms in which I stayed, and on the rooms in which I will want to stay next time around, so as to have the room with the nicest view and the most lavish floor plan. After all, who would want to be the guest staying in a hotel's worst room?”
Driven by our tireless wanderlust, we will keep travelling the length and breadth of Europe in 2015, too, on our perennial quest for unique new hotels to bring back the most coveted room numbers for you.
