Christmas tree, presents galore and time for your loved ones
Christmas is not just a date, of course, it is a feeling. A familiar blend of decorated spruce and candles, opulent festive dinners and lovingly wrapped presents. I cannot get used to the idea of wrapping Christmas presents in recycled paper. Presents are supposed to be brightly coloured and anything but reasonable. When I saw these colourful pillows, it was love at first sight! And since I could not make up my mind which one to choose, I am giving an art pillow by Wiedemann Mettler to my sweetheart this year. I can hardly wait until we unwrap our pillow on Christmas Eve and arrange it on the sofa together. Then I will rest my head on it for the rest of the holidays, dreaming about being resilient and staying on top of my schedule rather than the other way around.

Once upon a time, there was a little silver bell whose sole purpose was to ring once a year, on Christmas Eve, to summon the family to the Christmas tree. No presents without the sound of the little bell. That is the way it was until I came of age. My life today is spent serving my clients the best I can. But on Christmas, it is time to come to my senses and make myself at home. Having more time to myself is really all I want for Christmas. To help me with my evening meditations, I am treating myself to an art pillow, and rather than spending all day in the kitchen, I shall order my Christmas goose from Heiko Nieder at The Dolder Grand this year. I want to introduce some new rituals, but without losing sight of tradition. Yes, of course: The little silver bell will ring again on Christmas Eve as always.

I would never go travelling without my own pillow – because how well I sleep depends essentially on the cushion I rest my head on. It is, of course, a very personal spot and plays a key role for the quality of my thoughts and dreams. So, bedding my head on someone else’s pillow is quite inconceivable.
