Riffelalp Resort Hotel, Zermatt

From here, the Matterhorn looks as temping as a giant piece of Toblerone chocolate. Europe's highest 5-star resort is situated high above the town of Zermatt, at 2,222 m above sea level, a world of its own, set apart form the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Noble and rustic at once, the "Riffelalp Resort" offers its guests one of the most splendid Alpine vistas. You may strap on your skis right in front of the house which is situated at the heart of the "Gornergrat" ski area. The hotel's interior design is dominated by plenty of wood and other natural materials. The wood's aromatic scent has a soothing and relaxing quality. It is a good place to regain your inner balance, be it through skiing, bathing in the pleasantly warm outdoor pool, or lounging comfortably in an armchair in front of the fireplace and nibbling chocolate.
