The new owner, POK Pühringer Group, has dug deep into its pockets, and invested approximately CHF 250 million into the conversion. This sparkling jewel is defined by three theme worlds: Wine & Dine, Art & Culture, and Health & Wealth. The parlours are large and bright – vast windows capture the blue of the lake. As you sink into the elegant oversized sofas you feel like a Lilliputian among giants. The grounds, landscaped like a resort, will impress you with its rich greenery and old-growth stock of trees. At the centre of the park, is a murmuring bronze fountain called "Bull and Bear," reminding patrons that Mr. Pühringer is not just a successful hotelier but also a prosperous businessman. Those who know and love the hotel "Palais Coburg" in Vienna, which belongs to the same group, will feel right at home in the residences "Wiener Philharmoniker," "Wiener Sängerknaben," and "Palais Coburg" in Vitznau.
